Nigerian Buns

How to make Nigerian buns

Ingredients 

  •  2 ½  Cup all purpose flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼-½ tsp nutmeg grated
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablesppons evaporated milk sub whole milk
  • 1 medium egg
  • ½ cup water increase to ¾ cup if you like it less crunchy
  • canola oil for frying

Instructions

  • Sift all purpose fllour in a medium bowl.
  • Add baking powder, salt, sugar, nutmeg and mix
  • Add room temperature butter, crumble with hands or using a butter butter, set aside
  • In a seprate bowl, combine evaporated milk, water and egg
  • Add the milk/egg. mixture to the dry mixure. Mix just until combined
  • Scoop into oil carefully with hands or using an ice cream scoop
  • Fry until golden brown. Enjoy warm.
